MPG joins the Keywords Studio Group
In December 2023, The Multiplayer Group joined Keywords Studios Group - The international provider of creative and technology-enabled solutions to the global video games and entertainment industries.
In the words of our CEO, Andy Norman - “MPG has found success in the multiplayer space through passion, expertise, and customer-driven collaboration. We have seen strong growth over the past few years, working on some of the most complex and successful games in the market, supported by our dedication to a sustainable, people-first culture.
With Keywords, we believe we can continue to lead and grow multiplayer innovation, bringing the MPG ethos to more customers and games. We look forward to working closely with Keywords and driving growth both in MPG and across the enlarged Keywords group”.
This is a super exciting move for MPG. We’ve levelled up and found a new home where we’re going to be able to work with some awesome people across Keywords’ many studios.
What do we do?
At the Multiplayer Group (MPG), we specialise in creating the highest standard of mind-blowing multiplayer experiences for our partners, through Co-Dev and Full-Dev projects.
With our HQ in Nottingham, UK, MPG is a 360 strong team spread across 30 countries, helping our partners to build 20+ AAA projects at any one time. Our aims are to be instrumental in the best multiplayer developments around the globe, to help our partners succeed and to add value to these projects that only experience like ours can.
Our story so far
MPG was founded in March 2018 by industry veterans and good friends Rik Alexander, Steve Bennett and Rocco Loscalzo. After years working together at various companies making multiplayer games and tooling, they had the lightbulb moment that building a company focusing solely on multiplayer wasn’t as ridiculous an idea as they’d first assumed.
Very quickly they realised that dev teams and publishers need highly skilled and experienced people to bolster their own teams. The biggest studios and publishers around the world are relying more and more on this way of working which sets them up for flexibility and success.
MPG was acquired by Improbable in September 2019, allowing us to supercharge our ambitions whilst still remaining technology agnostic and laser focused on client success.
Fast-forward four years, and we have established ourselves as one of the most sought-after Co-Dev partners in the industry.
Not only do we help to make awesome games, we’re also pretty passionate about ensuring we do that in the right way. For MPG, this means maintaining a people-first, remote-friendly culture where the team can feel comfortable and secure in their roles. It’s running a business that’s financially sustainable and cares about its impact on the planet. And it’s championing a diversity and inclusion strategy that supports the industry in becoming a more equitable place for everybody.
It’s been a great journey so far. Now it’s time for our next adventure - with Keywords Studios.
Let’s do this!
